CHARACTER INFO
Name: Lynn Syunn Dru Rock Haidr Jinto (Jinto Lynn for short). Note that there are several possible romanizations of his name. Any is fine really.
Gender: M
Source: Banner Of The Stars
Canon point: After Banner Of The Stars II (post recovery from his little expedition on Lobnass)
Age: 19
Colour: 6968A9
Chumhandle: imperialBackbone

History: http://seikai.wikia.com/wiki/Jinto_Linn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abh for the Abh in general
Personality: Poor Jinnto is a milquetoast kinda guy thrust into a stellar conflict that is beyond the scope of what he's comfortable with. A somewhat shy, studious lad, he's the kind of boy who would have been the valedictorian of his class if he were allowed to live out a normal childhood. His niceness is shown in his interaction with his cat, Diaho: while Jinto fairly pampers him, Diaho ignores him entirely when he doesn't want food or scritches, and forgets about him completely when separated from him for a few months. Despite that, Jinto doesn't seem to resent this treatment.
Circumstances didn't allow a normal childhood though. Now legally not just an Abh but Abh nobility (nobility of people who are by definition nobility, strange how that works), he struggles with his place in the universe. Abh or lander? His is the classic immigrant's dilemna, having to decide whether one's heritage or one's adopted homeland are more important. While the Kin of the Stars have welcomed him as one of them, he still feels sometimes like an outsider. Undoubtedly he longs for his native Martine, its grass, animals, weather and twinkling stars but that's no longer possible for him. While he believes in the rightness of the Abh cause, he's sensitive to accusations that he's a traitor to landers. An exile, he seeks comfort in routine and with his friends.

The above may give the impression that he's completely spineless, which is not so. He tends to stick up more for others than himself though, which has a tendency to put him into awkward situations. He's definitely more the conciliatory than confrontational type but if there's an absolute necessity, he's capable of being confrontational. Given a choice though he'll always go with the choice that involves less shouting angrily at each other.

The aw-shucks adorability hides a sharp mind though, enough to earn the interest of the notoriously difficult to please Admiral Spaurh. Jinto's not a thinker who comes up with brilliant, eureka-ish insights, but rather a methodical planner, the type to go over every pro and con before deciding on a course of action. He remembers details. He bought an inexpensive but fitting birthday present six months before your actual birthday.

This is not to say he's incapable of acting spontaneously if backed into a corner though. He can improvise and knows that occasionally the best decision is the fastest. This improvisation sometimes has a facetious or sardonic quality. For instance when he and Lafiel had to escape United Mankind soldiers by riding robotic mascots through a theme park, the animals asked if they were really children wanting piggy back rides. He assured them that they were merely "concerned about their weight".

Complicating all this is the Abh princess he's grown close to over the years. He feels an overwhelming need to be by her side. The nature of this feeling remains confusing for the both of them and they are both rather nervous and awkward whenever the idea that they might be more than just good friends comes up. The difference in their physiology adds an additional complicating layer: he'll age while she remains youthful for hundreds of years. He struggles with knowing that she'll have to watch him grow old and die.
He's often her voice of reason, checking her more violent and glory seeking impulses. She, in turn, keeps him from paralyzing himself with doubts.

In summary, Jinto's the kindof boy your parents would be delighted for you to bring home if he weren't a flunky for a race of arrogant, snarky, spaceborn elf-Romans.

Abilities & physical limitations: Jinto is an ordinary human. In fact, if it weren't for the exercise routine he has to follow to keep his bones from decalcifying during long trips in space, he'd be pretty out of shape.

Though trained with a laser pistol, as all Abh soldiers are, it's been years since he shot one. He shines most in his assigned role: supply officer, which is somewhat like being a quartermaster or clerk, with the additional duty of monitoring fuel and ammunition levels during battle. This also makes him almost the equivalent of a certified accountant. He has secondary training in other noncom aspects of running a starship: systems maintenance, basic repairs, etc.

He's pretty good with cats.

Notable AU differences from canon, if applicable: -

Strife Specibus: minekind
Prototyping: SpecialLunchSprite
Let me explain. At the moment Jinto needed to prototype, the only expendable thing nearby was a care package he was delivering to one Front Wing Flyer Samson, a lander like himself. This package contained a gift from Samson's grandma of some home cooking to keep him from getting too homesick out in space.

Unbeknownst to Jinto, this delicacy was cat meat.

This may have been engineered by the kernel itself, as they're drawn to the recently deceased.

Title: Clerk Of Fuel
In-game abilities: Jinto has the ability to accelerate or make more efficient processes that involve the release of energy from molecules, such as eating, breathing and burning. For instance, if he concentrates hard he can make two slices of bread into a good amount of food for a day, increase the stamina of another by increasing their V02 max and decreasing the buildup of lactic acid or cause a fire to burn either brighter (but shorter, as it consumes its fuel faster) or longer. As he climbs the echeladder he will also gain the ability to slow down or make less efficient such reactions and be able to handle them on much larger scales. If he reaches god tier he will be able to accelerate or decelerate the aging of stars. He's great to have around at a barbeque. Note that this doesn't allow him to start such reactions, meaning his is primarily a support class.

Planet: The Land Of Jewels And Arcologies:
Seemingly a heavily terraformed planet, the LOJAA contains thousands of towers of all types, criscrossed by roads, both supported like bridges and hovering. The interior of the towers contain malfunctioning machinery. Though these towers appear to have once contained everything necessary for life (IE they were arcologies), said machinery has spoiled most of the food stores and made them dangerous places to tread. Each tower has a good number of jewels embedded in the walls, though attempts to pry them out or even touch them will come to grief: not only are they stubbornly stuck in there, defensive robots will activate, the only consistently working system in every tower.
The planet's underlings are small robots shaped like lunch boxes, most on wheels, some hovering and the largest on legs. They attack by opening their bodies and launching the ball used in minchu (a popular sport on Delkto, where Jinto was educated) at you. Worse, they will often taunt and insult you from their tinny sounding external speakers. However their words are simply generic insults repeated parrotlike, over and over, rather than anything indicating personal knowledge of their target.
The Denizen is Kronos, a monstrous, blank faced humanoid. He wears what can only be described as a togasuit. He can speed up time selectively within his area of effect. His most powerful attack involves rapidly aging a player. This attack can only be done successfully on one player per battle. If Kronos wins, he won't kill the player but rather simply swallow them, where they will dwell in his stomach in livable, if rather gross conditions. He carries a gigantic version of the gun carried by the title character of Dirty Harry, painted a bright purplish color, called the Teal Clint. He can be defeated by knocking the barrel towards him just before he accelerates time in the area of the gun.
If killed, Kronos will drop two captachalogable items: human sized versions of the togasuit and the Teal Clint. The latter may be alchemized with a standard mine to produce the Harry Sack, a particularly powerful, if gross looking and musty smelling mine whose explosive is pure man-grit.
